AION UT Officially Rolls Off the Line in Austria, Deepening Its European Localization Footprint

2026-03-26

On 18 March 2026, GAC celebrated the mass production roll-off of the AION UT at Magna's production base in Austria. As the second GAC model to roll off the production line in Europe following the AION V, this milestone was achieved through in-depth localized cooperation between GAC and Magna, marking a key step in GAC’s advancement of its localized layout in Europe. By integrating Magna’s sophisticated manufacturing system with GAC’s design and R&D capabilities, the AION UT has realized the profound integration of “European design + local manufacturing”, emerging as a new benchmark for China-Europe automotive industry cooperation. The model will be successively launched in multiple European countries starting from April 2026.

Designed by the GAC Milan European Design Team, the AION UT is a tailor-made model for European consumers, with its design, practicality and driving experience all precisely aligned with the expectations of the local market. Built around European urban mobility scenarios, this model achieves efficient use of space with its compact body size and creates a spacious and practical interior without compromising driving comfort, which effectively combines the understanding of the local market with Europe’s scaled industrial layout.

The mass production roll-off of the AION UT in Austria is an important step for GAC in building a sustainable and localized market layout in Europe, and also drives GAC steadily forward toward becoming a globally competitive automotive brand.

Going forward, GAC will continue to collaborate with high-quality global partners to continuously improve its layout in Europe and deeply integrate into the European new energy vehicle ecosystem with products and services more tailored to local needs, contributing to the global transition toward intelligent and sustainable mobility.
