GAC Accelerates European Market Plan, Partnering with Magna to Deepen Localized Cooperation

On November 21, 2025, GAC and Magna, a globally renowned automotive manufacturer and parts supplier, officially announced the launch of an extensive cooperation program. The two parties will accelerate their electrification strategy and expand the scale of EV cooperation in Europe through localized cooperation, providing European consumers with locally customized and high-quality GAC electric vehicles. This cooperation is an important measure for GAC to strengthen its presence in the European market, which will simultaneously expand its technical cooperation, supply chain and sales business. It marks an important step in GAC’s European electrification strategy and will further improve its production and sales network in the European market.

Europe in Focus: Combining Localized Cooperation with Product Rollout

Europe is an important strategic market for GAC's global development and a key region driving the global automotive industry's transition to electric vehicles. The cooperation with Magna is an important measure for GAC to deepen its investment in the European market. Wei Haigang, President of GAC INTERNATIONAL, stated: “Europe is an important strategic market in GAC's global development. Through widespread partnering with Magna, we are able to offer European customers locally customized and high-quality electric vehicles, which embody GAC's commitment to intelligent technology, sustainable development, and masterful craftsmanship.”

 

Currently, The AION V, GAC's all-electric SUV model, has received a 5-star safety rating from E-NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) , has completed localized cooperative customization with Magna, and has officially commenced mass production at Magna's manufacturing facility in Graz, Austria. Meanwhile, this model has successfully launched in three markets: Finland, Poland and Portugal. In the future, it will gradually expand to more regions in Europe relying on this cooperation as well as improved service and sales networks.

Strategic Synergy Drives Steady Progress in Localized Cooperation

Magna has rich experience in vehicle manufacturing. Its Graz facility features mature operational capabilities and can assemble fuel-powered  vehicles, hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles on flexible production lines simultaneously. With 125 years of vehicle manufacturing experience, Magna has developed more than 40 vehicle models for customers and produced over 4 million vehicles worldwide.
