Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 28 May 2026 – GAC’s first compact electric vehicle specifically designed for urban mobility, the AION UT, debuted in Finland, Greece, Poland and Portugal in May. The arrival of AION UT signals GAC’s push into the European electric vehicle landscape. Designed in Milan and manufactured at Magna in Austria, AION UT is a vehicle with European DNA.

Interior space
AION UT was engineered as the ultimate response to fast-paced urban environments. Its compact silhouette makes navigating narrow European streets and tight parking spaces easy. AION UT’s overall length is 4,270 mm and with a class-leading wheelbase of 2,750 mm it provides a cabin space that rivals much larger vehicles. Everyday practicality is maximized through a generous 440-liter luggage compartment and 24 storage spaces distributed throughout the cabin.
Range and warranty
Powering this new expression of urban comfort is a 150kW (204 hp) electric motor paired with a 60 kWh LFP battery, delivering a WLTP combined range of up to 430 km. AION UT can charge from 30% to 80% in 24 minutes.

Intelligent technology and safety
The cabin is designed around modern ergonomics and daily functionality. At its core is a 14.6-inch multimedia display that offers intuitive access to the vehicle’s systems, including full Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Passenger well-being is prioritized with an advanced PM2.5 air filtration system and heat pump technology, ensuring cabin comfort regardless of external conditions.
Crucially, AION UT features a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) designed to elevate both safety and driving confidence. Standard features include adaptive cruise control with integrated driving assistance, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure prevention. Drivers are further supported by a 360° panoramic camera, parking sensors, and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with a door-opening warning system.
