2025-09-28

On September 26, a delegation led by Marcio Brito, President of Brazil’s National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (Inmetro), visited GAC. President of GAC INTERNATIONAL Wei Haigang and other executives received the group. The two sides held in-depth discussions on new energy vehicle technologies, industry policy, and China-Brazil sustainable energy development, aiming to further strengthen their cooperative partnership. Following the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement signed in May this year, this visit marks a new milestone in bilateral relations. It also underscores GAC INTERNATIONAL’s ongoing commitment to its “Brazil Action” localization strategy, fulfilling its promise to "In Brazil, for Brazil, integrating into Brazil, serving Brazil, and contributing to Brazil." Through active participation, GAC is dedicating efforts to the development of Brazil's automotive industry.

Earlier in June and August, GAC dispatched technical experts to participate in drafting Brazil’s electric vehicle industry regulations, reflecting both Inmetro’s recognition of GAC's technical strengths and the growing global influence of Chinese automotive companies.

Setting a Benchmark for China-Brazil Industry Collaboration

GAC’s collaboration with Inmetro pioneers a new model of China-Brazil cooperation in the automotive sector. This multifaceted partnership—centered around technology standards and joint policy exploration—is driving advancement in Brazil’s local auto industry and regulatory frameworks.

For GAC, collaboration with Inmetro offers critical support for its expansion in the Latin American market. Participating in the development of local technical standards enables GAC to more accurately anticipate market requirements and enhance the competitiveness of its products. Furthermore, this partnership contributes to strengthening GAC’s brand influence in Brazil and reinforces its reputation as a responsible corporate entity.

Looking ahead, as the global automotive industry accelerates its transition toward electrification and intelligence, GAC will continue to deepen its collaboration with Inmetro and other institutions to jointly drive the innovative application of new energy vehicle technologies in the Brazilian market. Both parties will maintain close communication across technical research and development, standards formulation, and industry advancement, continually exploring new opportunities for cooperation.

As a creator of low-carbon, green, and intelligent mobility for a better life, GAC remains committed to a long-term, user-centric approach in Brazil. Guided by its “One GAC 2.0” strategy, GAC pledges to "In Brazil, for Brazil, integrating into Brazil, serving Brazil, and contributing to Brazil," working hand-in-hand with Brazilian partners to deliver a more sustainable and valuable mobility future for Brazilian consumers. As strategic collaboration with Inmetro continues to deepen, GAC will inject new vitality into China-Brazil economic ties and contribute Chinese expertise to the advancement of Brazil’s new energy vehicle industry.
