In Philippines, For Philippines: Creating a "Zero-Anxiety" Green Mobility Experience

New energy vehicles boast advantages such as "green low-carbon operation, energy efficiency, and high economic benefits". Currently, Philippine consumers are increasingly willing to choose green and low-carbon products. As the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the Philippine market continues to rise, the Philippine government has also introduced a series of policies to improve the electric mobility ecosystem, including refining electric vehicle classification to provide tax incentives and expanding the charging infrastructure network.

At the launch event, Wang Shunsheng, Vice President of GAC INTERNATIONAL and President of Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Africa Regional Centers, stated that as GAC’s strategic pivot in the Southeast Asian market, GAC has been adhering to the tenet of "In Philippines, For Philippines, Integrated into the Philippines, Serving the Philippines, and Contributing to the Philippines" since entering the country in 2018. Now, under the guidance of its "ONE GAC 2.0" global strategy, GAC will now establish "localization strategy" as its developmental cornerstone. It will not only bring more high-quality and high-tech new energy vehicle models, but also actively align with the Philippine government's active promotion of electric vehicle transition—including the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA), the ambitious plan to build 7,300 charging stations, tax incentives, and infrastructure support. GAC is committed to creating a "zero-anxiety" green mobility experience for Philippine users, making eco-friendly transportation a truly reassuring choice and building an inclusive, sustainable green mobility future with distinct Philippine characteristics.

Meanwhile, the Philippines' numerous islands and diverse lifestyles create significantly varied vehicle needs among different users. From the bustling streets of Manila to the coastal drives of Cebu; from the mountain roads of Baguio to the long-distance journeys in Davao – GAC's models launched in the Philippines fully meet the diverse and personalized demands of users across different regions. Since entering the Philippine market, GAC has not only launched a range of mature vehicle models covering sedans, SUVs, and MPVs—all validated in global markets—but also built a network of over 30 sales and service outlets, covering major local cities. In 2024, GAC's sales in the Philippines reached 3,207 units, a year-on-year increase of 65%, ranking third among Chinese brands in sales.

Looking ahead, guided by the "One GAC" strategy, GAC will serve Philippine consumers through three brand lineups: GAC, AION, and HYPTEC, offering diverse vehicle options. By leveraging a product portfolio that combines multiple brand lineups and multi-energy technology routes, GAC will bring smarter, greener, and higher-quality mobility choices to the Philippines.
